Offshore Banking: why offshore, why Guernsey, why us?

Offshore banking designed to help protect and maximise your wealth

Why offshore?

If you work overseas, travel frequently, plan to retire abroad or simply want to maximise your income, Offshore Banking could be your solution. An attractive option for UK expatriates who need flexible and competitive offshore solutions, it is also ideal for in-pats*** who need offshore solutions in their own time zone. It gives you the opportunity to have your interest paid gross** and allows you to defer the payment of tax on your savings (subject to your tax status and the decisions that you make regarding the impact of the European Savings Tax Directive on your personal circumstances.

Why Guernsey?

Guernsey is one of the world's most secure international offshore financial centres. Guernsey saw tremendous deposit growth throughout the 1980s and 1990s and today it is still one of the biggest, safest and most respected offshore financial centres. So our members will benefit from the knowledge that their money is close to hand in a trusted location with a bank they can trust, giving them security and comfort.

** Deferring your tax payment can help maximise your savings. Tax deferment is subject to your tax status and the decisions that you make regarding the impact of the EU Savings Tax Directive on your personal circumstances. Where required, it is your responsibility to declare the existence of an offshore bank account and any interest paid to your tax authority. If you are an EU resident, you can choose to either share information with your tax authority or pay a retention tax on the interest paid (the default arrangement).

*** Although residents of other countries can benefit from saving offshore, you are responsible for declaring any interest earned to your own tax authority.
